Beat the eggs with sugar, add the rest of the ingredients and then mix well. Pour the prepared mixture into a greased and floured tray.
Bake the mixture until golden at 392°F (200 °C), remove and let it cool completely.
Make the syrup from the water, sugar, vanilla and milk, by putting them to boil. Pour the hot syrup over the cooled sponge cake and let it cool completely before serving.
