  • eggs - 4
  • sugar - 1 cup (250 g)
  • water - 10 tbsp, hot
  • flour - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • baking powder - 2 tsp (10 g)
  • walnuts - 1/3 cup (75 g) ground
  • milk - 1 1/5 cups (300 g)
  • butter - 1/2 cup (125 g)
  • sugar - 1 2/5 cups (350 g)
  • cocoa - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 packet
  • starch - 4 tbsp
  • confectionery cream - to cover the top
  • honey - 2 tbsp

Beat the eggs with the sugar and add 10 tablespoons of water. Sieve the flour, mixed with the baking powder, and add it to the egg mixture. Add the ground walnuts and stir the mixture well. Divide it into three equal parts, which you'll bake into cake layers.

In a baking dish greased with butter and sprinkled with flour, place a layer and bake them in a moderate oven. Once it cools, remove it and repeat the procedure for the other two layers.

To prepare the cream, boil the milk and add 1 cup (250 g) of sugar to it. Dilute the cocoa and starch in 4 tablespoons of cold. Pour this in a thin stream into the milk while stirring nonstop.

Remove the resulting cream from the heat and mix it with the butter and vanilla. Make the syrup from 5 tablespoons caramelized sugar and 1 cup water.

In a suitable tray, start to assemble the cake. Put a cake layer to serve as a base, then syrup it and smear it with the cream. Put the next layer on top and repeat the procedure. Smear the remaining cream, which you've mixed carefully with the whipped confectionery cream and honey, over the 3rd syruped cake layer.

Decorate the cake with the walnut halves on top and ground walnuts on the sides.
