The chicken is cut into portions. Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks (if small, they can be left whole) and put in a stew crock. Cover with chicken portions, chopped mushrooms and peeled garlic cloves.
The cube is dissolved in a cupful of water, then add the juice of two lemons and pour the products into the pot. Sprinkle with salt and savory. Bake in the oven for about 1 1/2 hours at 356°F (180 °C). Serve with chopped parsley.
