Put the baking soda in the yogurt and let it rise. Beat it with the sugar, add egg yolks, flour, then beat with a mixer. Throw the nuts in and mix. Beat the egg whites and gently mix them again with the remaining mixture.
Pour the dough into a greased oven dish and put it to bake in a moderate oven until it is completely done. You will know by checking if a toothpick comes out clean.
Leave the finished sponge cake with yogurt to cool and moisten it with a syrup made from the sugar, vanilla, lemon juice and 3 cups of water in a container on the stove.
