  • yoghurt - 1 cup
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • oil - 2/5 cup (100 ml)
  • flour - 2 cups
  • vanilla - optional, or grated lemon rind
  • jam - by choice
  • walnuts - crumbled for sprinkling, optional


Dissolve the baking soda in the yoghurt until effervescent. Add the sugar, oil, and flour while stirring. Homogenize the mixture and flavor it with vanilla or lemon rind.

Pour the mixture into a greased and floured baking dish. Distribute jam over it, using a fork, in a net pattern. If desired, sprinkle with some chopped walnuts; lightly press them into the cake.

Put this cake without eggs to bake in a heated 356°F (180 °C) oven until tender (about 20-25 minutes). Serve sliced.find similar recipes here
