How to cook
The cleaned mackerel is salted and refrigerated while you prepare the sauce.
Heat the oil and fry the onion until it softens. Add the tomatoes, the pressed garlic cloves and flour, which is beaten with a little cold water.
Cook the sauce until ready over low heat and then transfer it into a suitable baking pan afterwards. Add the mackerel, cut into pieces, as much salt as you like and a little finely chopped fresh dill.
The oven-baked retro mackerel with tomato sauce is baked in a preheated oven at 360°F (180 degrees) until it's ready. If desired, before serving, the mackerel can be sprinkled with tomato sauce with finely chopped fresh parsley.
