Chop the onion finely. Grate the cheese coarsely. Grind the meat into mince and knead it with the onions, an egg, the cheese, beer and spices. Allow to sit to cool for 2 hours.
Form large flat meatballs, arrange them in a pre-greased tray. In the middle of each, make an indentation. Bake in a moderate oven.
Shortly before they are fully ready, break an egg into each indentation. Bake the patties until ready.
