Ingredients

  • for the dough
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • butter - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • eggs - 6
  • yoghurt - 1 cup
  • yeast - 1 packet dry
  • flour - about 2 lb (1 kg)
  • for spreading
  • butter - melted
  • eggs - 1
  • sesame seeds
  • sugar - for sprinkling
  • honey

How to cook

Dissolve the yeast in a little warm water and a pinch of sugar. Beat the eggs well with the sugar and add the yeast, then add the other ingredients. Knead the dough and leave it to rise in a warm place.

Then roll it out into a medium thick sheet and brush it thoroughly with melted butter. Wrap it well in a roll and cut it into equal pieces. Arrange them in a greased tray and let them rise again.

Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds and sugar and put to bake in a moderately heated oven. Smear the baked panettone cake with honey.
