Ingredients

  • potatoes - 2 lb (1 kg) boiled
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • butter - 2 tablespoons
  • dijon mustard - 2 tablespoons
  • dill - 2 tablespoons fresh, diced
  • garlic - 1 tsp, pressed
  • onions - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
  • eggs - 1 hard - boiled, mashed + 1 beaten
  • salt - to taste
  • black pepper
  • breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
  • olive oil - 2 - 3 tablespoons

How to cook

The boiled potatoes are mashed with the salt and butter, add the mustard, dill, garlic, onions, mashed egg, season with salt, black pepper and mix to obtain a homogeneous mixture.

With moistened hands, take a bit of the mixture and shape oblong, oval balls. In a pan, heat the olive oil and add a little butter. Each potato dumpling is rolled in some beaten egg, then in breadcrumbs and fried for 5 minutes on each side.

The finished American-style potatoes are removed and drained on a rack, to remain crunchy. Serve with tomato sauce.
