How to cook
Grate the cheddar cheese on a fine grater. Mix it with the soft butter.
Add the baking soda in the yoghurt and leave it to activate.
Pour the flour with the spices and salt into a bowl and add the milk and butter with the cheddar.
Knead a soft and non-stick dough and if necessary sprinkle more flour.
Roll it out into a thin crust and cut the biscuits into the shape you want. Arrange them in a tray lined with baking paper or greased with oil.
The cheese biscuits are baked at 356°F (180 degrees) for about 15 minutes or depending on their thickness. They are ready as soon as they aquire a golden color and start to smell nice.
When the tray is removed from the oven, the biscuits are left to cool well and that way they will acquire a crispy crust.
