How to cook
Dilute the jam with the carbonated water, and if necessary, cut the figs finely. Beat the eggs with the sugar until whitening and add the oil, jam and gradually the sifted flour with baking powder and baking soda.
Finally, mix with vanilla and nuts. Put the mixture into a greased and floured mold and put it to bake in a hot oven at 374°F (190 °C). Top the finished pastry with icing as desired, brush with honey or sprinkle it with a mixture of cinnamon and powdered sugar.
