Sift the flour with the baking powder and add the vanilla sugar, then add the pumpkin puree, butter or oil, grated orange zest and finally, orange dye. Knead a medium dense, slightly sticky dough. Grease your palms and shape it into balls the size of a walnut.
Arrange them on a tray, laid out with baking paper. On each ball, put one pumpkin seed. Put the pumpkin cookies in a preheated 356°F (180°C) oven.
First bake on the lower element, and then on the upper.
