How to cook
Put the ready risen dough in a greased tray and level it out. Put it to bake until ready in a moderately heated oven. Split the resulting loaf in 2 separate layers, after it has cooled.
For the mascarpone cream, beat the egg yolks with sugar to whitening. Separately, beat the egg whites and carefully combine them together with the yolk mixture. Finally, gradually mix with the mascarpone and rum until you get a uniform consistency of the cream.
Put one of the panettone layers in a suitable cake tray and spray it with rum or milk. Apply plenty of cream, place the second layer, spray again with rum/milk and smear the entire cake smoothly with the remaining cream.
Top with caramel syrup made from the melted sugar, water and a little butter. Make other decorations as desired.
