Beat the butter with a mixer with the powdered sugar and vanilla until you get a smooth cream. While continuously whipping, add the eggs one at a time, followed by the orange juice. Then gradually add the flour that you've sifted with the baking powder and baking soda.
Mix with the finely chopped half of an orange rind and raisins, pre-rolled and lightly sprinkled with 1 tablespoon of flour. Put the mixture into an oblong greased tray and put it to bake in a preheated to about 356°F (180 °C) oven for about 45 minutes.
You can sprinkle the baked sponge cake with raisins and orange zest with powdered sugar.
