Dissolve the yeast and sugar in lukewarm milk. Once effervescent, add the beaten egg and yoghurt with baking soda dissolved in it. Begin adding flour and gradually knead a firm dough. Then let it rest.

From the dough, you can roll out a pastry and cut out shapes, or just tear pieces off and shape small mekitsi. Fry the mekitsi in plenty of preheated oil on both sides.

Serve them with jam, honey or a salty stuffing of your choice. Optionally, you can add crumbled feta cheese to the dough.find similar recipes here
