How to cook
Dissolve the yeast and 1 teaspoon of sugar with the warm milk. Mix with the flour gradually and the other cup of milk. Allow the mixture to stand in a warm place for half an hour. Then stir until you get a homogeneous mixture with the eggs, sugar, vanilla, oil and salt.
Leave it for about 40 minutes in a warm place to rise again. Heat oil in a skillet - a little more to avoid burning the Russian buns. Prepare a cup of cold water. Using a spoon, dipped in water, scoop the dough and drop it into the oil to fry evenly on both sides.
Dip the spoon into the water each time before scooping. Serve the Russian Oladyi buns with a savoury or sweet garnish.
