How to cook
Pour 2/5 cup (100 ml) of milk into a bowl. Add the rum and brandy. If you are making the homemade biscuit cake for children, do not add alcohol. You can increase the amount of milk or add strawberry essence.
Use a 8x8″ (20 x 20 cm) tray. Arrange a layer of biscuits in it, which have been syruped with the milk mixture.
Prepare the cream for the strawberry cake by warming the remaining milk with the sugar on the hob. Separate some of it aside.
Add the eggs, stir briefly, pour the milk, starch and vanilla sugar. Beat until a smooth mixture is obtained. Pour it over the milk on the stove before it boils.
Reduce the heat and boil until a thick mixture is obtained. It is important to prepare the aromatic cream for the cake over low heat, so that it does not burn. When ready, add the butter, stir again and remove it from the heat.
Pour the cream over the biscuit base. Arrange another row of biscuits, then strawberry jam, then cream and repeat until you finish off with cream.
Once the no-bake cake has cooled, store it in a cool place for 4 hours or a day. Wrap it with cling film.
Garnish it with pieces of fresh strawberries and serve the biscuit cake with lots of cream and strawberries.
