How to cook
Peel, seed and shred the apples coarsely.
Place them in a strainer and squeeze off the excess juices with your hands. Add the sugar, walnuts and cinnamon to the strained apples.
Melt the butter. Unfold the filo pastry and cut it in half.
Brush one filo sheet with butter, place the filling on its lower end, leaving space close to the edges..
Fold the lower end, embracing the filling firmly, fold the edges and roll it closed.
Lay a piece of parchment paper in a tray and arrange the apple rolls. Brush them with melted butter.
Preheat the oven to 360°F (180°C) and bake for about 30 minutes, until the apple strudel obtains a golden brown crust.
