How to cook
Beat the room temperature softened butter with the sugar into a fluffy cream.
Add the eggs one at a time and wait, until the egg is well absorbed before adding the next.
Sift the flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt.
In portions, add it to the first mixture.
Flavor with the seeds of one vanilla pod. Homogenize the sponge cake mixture very well.
Line an oblong cake tin with baking paper.
Pour the Vanilla Sponge Cake mixture in it and level it out.
Bake the sponge cake at 340°F (170°C) in a preheated oven with a fan for about 40-45 minutes.
Test to see if it's done with a wooden skewer. Cool the baked Vanilla Sponge Cake on a wire rack and sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
Note: You can serve the sponge cake with vanilla cream.
This sponge cake can be used as a base for making cakes with dried fruit or nuts!
