Ingredients

  • apples - 15 - 20, healthy, medium - sized
  • wooden skewers
  • sugar - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • water - around 1 1/5 cups (300 ml)
  • vinegar - 1 tbsp
  • dye - red
  • nuts - ground, for rolling in
measures

How to cook

Wash and dry the apples. Remove the stems and in their place, stick the wooden skewers. Put the water, vinegar and sugar in a pot on the stove.

Stir every few minutes until the syrup thickens. Finally stir in the dye. Dip each apple in the sugar mixture, drain slightly and roll it in chopped nuts if desired.

Leave on a tray to harden.
