How to cook
Soak the chestnuts for at least 1 hour in cold water. Then drain them and using a sharp knife, cut off the sharp edges in a circle. From the dull side, make crisscross cuts.
Put the chestnuts in a baking dish, cover them with aluminum foil and put them to bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven for about 20-25 minutes.
Occasionally, shake the tray. After the 25 minutes have passed, if the chestnuts are still not ready and soft, leave them in the warm but turned off oven for another 10 minutes.
Then peel (if desired) the ready chestnuts and serve.
