  • eggs - 2
  • milk - 1 1/5 cups (300 ml)
  • salt - 1 - 2 pinches
  • baking powder - 1 pinch or baking soda
  • rye flour - whole wheat, for a thick density
  • butter - 1 knob to spread on the pancakes


Beat the eggs with the milk, a pinch or two of salt and sugar, the baking powder or baking soda. Add the flour and whip until you get a nice pancake batter with a thick density.

Preheat a non-stick frying pan and using a greasy napkin lightly grease the bottom and walls. Put in ladles of the dough and spread out the pancake. Fry the rye pancakes on both sides and smear each ready one lightly with a pat of butter.
