Dissolve the yeast in 2/5 cup (100 ml) of warm water with the sugar. Mix with 2-3 tablespoons of flour and leave it to rise for about 20 minutes. Sift the flour, make a well and add the yeast, salt and water (4/5 cup (200 ml)).
Knead a soft dough, gradually adding a little oil. Let the dough rest for another 20 minutes. Optionally, add walnuts and dried fruits after it rises. Put the pita into a greased tray, set aside a little dough to make decorations.
From the allocated dough, form a sun, corn stalks or other decorations to your liking. Leave the shaped pita to rise another 20 minutes. Grease the pita with an egg yolk beaten with a little water and put it to bake in preheated 356°F (180 °C) oven.
