Pour the sugar with a little water (about 1 tbsp) in a pot on low heat and wait until it begins to brown. Distribute the resulting cream along the bottom of an oven dish. Then beat the eggs and mix the resulting liquid with the sugar and milk.
Stir well and pour everything over the caramel in the oven dish. Place the dish in another, larger oven dish, filled with water.
Arrange the dishes at the bottom of an oven and bake at 320°F (160 °C) a bit longer than 30 min. Take the hardened cream out of the oven and wait 10 min. Invert the dish onto a large plate or platter. Cut it into pieces and serve.
