Homemade Baguettes with Garlic

  • flour - 1 4/5 cups (450 g)
  • milk - 1 1/5 cups (300 ml)
  • butter - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 g)
  • yeast - 1/2 cube, fresh
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 1 egg white
  • garlic - 3 cloves
  • parsley - 1 bunch


Dissolve the yeast in a little warm milk, adding the sugar and 1-2 tbsp flour to it. Leave this aside to rise.

Then mix it with the salt and remaining milk, melted butter and flour.

Stir this mixture well and leave it in a warm area to double in size. Then knead it once again and divide it into several balls.

Leave them to sit for another 20 min. Then roll each ball into elongated strips by hand.

Arrange the strips in a buttered and floured oven dish. Bake 356°F (180 °C) in a preheated oven.

10 min. before taking them out of the oven, smear them with a mixture of whipped egg white, chopped garlic and parsley.find similar recipes here
