Ingredients

  • red cabbages - 11 lb (5 kg)
  • salt - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • black pepper - 30 grains
  • bay leaf - 5 leaves
  • vinegar - 2 cups (500 ml)

Preparation

Cut the cabbage into strips and put it in a large container. Add the salt and mix well.

After four days, remove the formed liquid and arrange the cabbage in jars, filling up to 3/4 of each jar’s volume.

Put black pepper and bay leaf in the jars and top with vinegar. Press down and keep in a cool area.
