Ingredients

  • cabbages - 6.5 lb (3 kg)
  • carrots - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • peppers - 11 lb (5 kg), green
  • allspice - 20 grains
  • black pepper - 40 grains
  • water - 1.5 gal (5 liters)
  • salt - 3 handfuls

How to make

Boil the water with salt over high heat for 10 minutes and leave it to cool. Cut the cabbage into very thin strips and the carrots into cubes, and mix it all.

Add the allspice and black pepper. Gut the green peppers, stuff them with the cabbage and carrots and arrange them in jars. Pour on the cold brine mixture. Store in a cool place.
