"Just try to imagine the aroma of freshly roasted beef, basil pesto and parmesan!"

Ingredients

  • veal - 2 lb (1 kg) rib eye steak
  • butter - 1/5 cup (60 g)
  • salt - 2 pinches
  • for the pesto sauce
  • olive oil - 7 tablespoons
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • basil - 1 bunch
  • garlic - 1 clove
  • pine nuts - 2 2/3 tbsp (40 g)
  • parmesan - 2 oz (50 g) grated

How to cook

Melt 1/3 of the butter. Cut the meat into coarse pieces, sprinkle them with salt and smear with melted butter. Bake on a grill, turning from time to time, so as to bake it from both sides.

Remove from the grill and smear each piece of meat with butter. Serve with the pesto sauce.

To make it, rip up the basil leaves, then wash them and leave them to dry. Cut the garlic into small pieces and together with the basil, mash them with the pine nuts, salt and olive oil.

Add the parmesan and mix well.
