How to cook

Mix the products together with a mixer. Add flour gradually and when it becomes impossible to work with the mixer, continue using your hands.

When the dough is ready, roll it out and flour it on both sides, so that it is not sticky. Cut out the desired size pieces and place on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven for about 10 minutes.

Stick the finished gingerbread immediately with jam and place in an airtight container. When you first take them out from the oven they will be soft, but seconds later - they will harden slightly. This is normal, they will soften again.

The cookies must not turn red because they will become too hard! If this happens, add sliced apples into the dish with the gingerbread and close the lid, they will become soft again in a few hours.

I like to make them in the evening and surprise the kids in the morning with them. Although I am a fan of chocolate, they are most delicious with marmalade or homemade apple jam.
