Boil the macaroni with a pinch of salt according to package directions. Strain them, leave them to cool and put them in a round oven dish.
Sprinkle the macaroni with the sugar, put pieces of butter in between them here and there. Beat the eggs with the vanilla and milk.
Pour the mixture over the macaroni.
Bake in a preheated 356°F (180 °C) oven until crispy and golden in color.
Note: I used 2 different types of macaroni. The diameter of my oven dish was 15″ (38 cm) and the sugar listed is just to give you an idea - use as much or little as you like.
