Beat the eggs to a fluffy cream. Add the sugar and continue beating. Add the sifted flour and baking powder. Next, add the nuts and stir with your hands. Pour the mixture into a rectangular oven dish measuring 15″ (38 cm) x 10″ (25 cm).
Bake at 356°F (180 °C) for 20-25 min. Take it out and leave it to cool. Make the syrup from the water and sugar by leaving them to boil for 5-6 min. Add the vanilla and leave to cool for a few min. Pour the warm syrup over the cooled layer.
