  • potatoes - about 2 lb (1 kg)
  • salt
  • black pepper - 1 tsp
  • turmeric - 1 tsp
  • paprika - 1 tsp, smoked
  • cayenne pepper - 1 tsp
  • olive oil - 2 tbsp (30 ml)
  • thyme - 1 tsp


Choose large potatoes of roughly the same size. Clean and wash them very well because you're going to be baking them without peeling them.

Cut them into coarse, same-sized pieces so they bake evenly. Cut each potato into 2, then into another 2 or 3 slices.

Dry them well with paper towels and pour in the olive oil, stir with your hands, so they get greased up well. Put all of the spices in a bowl, stir and pour them over the potatoes. Put baking paper in a large oven dish.

Distribute the potatoes in it - all in a single layer. Heat the oven to 356°F (180 °C) and put them to bake for 40-50 min. to a golden brown crisp.
