Beat the eggs with the sugar. To them add the flour sifted with the baking powder and semolina. Stir well.
Pour it into a form (I had a round one 10″ (26 cm) in diameter) and bake at 356°F (180 °C) for 20 min. Leave it to cool.
Make the syrup by boiling the milk with the sugar and adding the vanillas. Boil for several minutes.
Cut the cooled cake layer into slices and pour the warm milk over it.
