Ingredients

  • bell peppers - 10 lb (4.5 kg) or red peppers
  • water - 8 cups
  • vinegar - 4 cups
  • sugar - 2 cups
  • salt - 1 cup
  • oil - 1 cup
  • allspice
  • black pepper
  • bay leaf

Preparation

Wash and clean the bell peppers or other peppers of their seeds. Cut them coarsely.

Pack them tightly into jars.

From the water and remaining products, boil a marinade on the stove until the sugar and salt melt.

Pour the marinade over the peppers, close and flip upside down.

Ingredients are for about 7 compote jars.
