Making the cake layer:
Beat the eggs with the sugar. Then, add the flour to which you've added the baking powder. Next, add the vanilla. Pour all this into a small, oiled oven dish and bake at 302°F (150 °C).
Check to see if it's ready with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Take it out of the oven and leave to cool very well.
Making the syrup:
While the cake layer is cooling, put all the ingredients for the syrup in a pot and stir until you get a slightly thickened syrup.
After the cake layer cools, poke holes in it with a pencil and pour on the cooled syrup. Sprinkle with coconut flakes on top.
