First: Wrap the phyllo pastry sheets into a roll. Cut it into 2 equal parts and then into strips. Put half the strips in an oiled tray to cover the bottom. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup (125 g) butter.
Second: Make a filling in a bowl from the ingredients for it, like a cake batter. Pour it evenly over the strips in the tray. Sprinkle crumbled walnuts and Turkish delight, cut into pieces, on top.
Put the rest of the strips over them and pour on the remaining melted butter. Cut it into pieces and put to bake in the oven. Once the cake is ready, leave it to cool.
Third: Make a sugar syrup by melting the sugar in the water and adding the citric acid. Boil about 5 min. and add the lemon zest.
Pour the hot syrup over the cooled cake and leave it to sit overnight before serving.
