"Instead of sliced bread or loaves, try our tasty fluffy bread buns - you`ll love `em."

Ingredients

  • flour - 1 2/3 cups (400 g)
  • water - 1 cup (250 ml) warm + 2 1/2 cups (600 ml) more
  • yeast - 1 packet, dry
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 tbsp
  • oil - 4 tbsp
  • baking soda - 1 packet

How to cook

Dissolve the yeast with the sugar in the warm water and leave it to bubble.

In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, pour in the effervescent yeast, the oil and knead a soft dough until smooth. If needed, add a little more flour.

Leave the dough in a buttered bowl to double in volume. Divide it into 7-8 balls, form them into wicks, coil them in a spiral to make pitas and dip briefly in 2 1/2 cups (600 ml) water, in which you've dissolved the baking soda.

Bake at 360°F (180 °C) until ready.
