Add the oil, baking soda and salt to the boiling water and remove from the stove. Gradually add the flour, while stirring with a wooden spatula initially.
Once the dough becomes thick, take it out onto an even surface and knead until it's ready. Form balls from the dough, put a raw nut in the middle of each.
Arrange the balls in an oiled oven dish, bake until reddened, then roll them in the coconut flakes and powdered sugar.
