Peel the apples, clean and grate them in a bowl, while also adding the cinnamon.
Mix together the flour, semolina, sugar and baking powder in a different bowl, making a dry mixture.
In an oiled tray, in layers, spread out apples, then dry mixture, apples again and finish off with dry mixture. It's very important to press down hard on each layer with your hand.
Melt a little butter and pour it over the cake. Bake in an oven with the fan on or in a moderate oven to a nice crust. Serve inverted.
