Beat the butter and sugar to a fluffy mixture, add the eggs 1 by 1 while stirring nonstop.
Sift the flour with the baking powder and vanilla.
Put the milk in the egg mixture and stir.
Pour the liquid mixture into the flour and stir until homogeneous.
Smear a tray with a little oil and sprinkle with flour.
Pour the cake mixture into it and add the finely chopped Turkish delight.
Put to bake at 356°F (180 °C) about 40 min. to a dry toothpick.
Take the cake out and cool it.
Bring the juice from the compote to a boil on the stove. Take it off and pour it over the cake.
Leave to cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
