How to cook
Heat the mixed together water and milk in a metal container, add the sugar and dissolve the yeast in the mixture.
Separately, sift the flour and add the baking powder, salt and stir. Form a well and pour the beaten eggs in it and the yeast mixture. Stir with a spatula to mix all the ingredients well to a very thick mixture. Let the mixture sit for about 30 min. and once it rises, mix again.
Heat the oil in a narrow and deep pan on low heat and once you can smell the heated oil, start frying the donuts.
Dip your spoon in the oil, then scoop a ball of dough with it, drop it in the heated oil and repeat with all of the dough.
The number of balls you can fry simultaneously in the pan depends on its size (I fried 5 at a time).
Fry on both sides to a nice crisp, take them out with a slotted spoon and arrange onto paper towels.
Once the excess oil has drained away, arrange them in a plate, sprinkle with powdered sugar or serve with your favorite jam. Quick and very tasty donuts.
