Dip the tomatoes in boiling water for 30 sec., take them out and dip in cold water. Then peel them and mash.
Heat the olive oil and pour in the tomato sauce and finely chopped garlic. Add a little salt and boil until the sauce thickens.
You can also add a little sugar to soften up the tomatoes' acidity.
Toward the end of boiling, add the basil leaves. Meanwhile, boil the spaghetti and then mix them with the tomato sauce. Pour on a little more olive oil and serve.
