  • dough - 17.5 oz (500 g) ready - made
  • mince - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • onions - 1
  • oil - 3 tablespoons
  • flour - 2 tablespoons
  • salt
  • eggs - 1
  • black pepper
  • cheese - grated


Make the filling by frying the finely chopped onions in the heated oil. To them add the mince, then the black pepper, flour and salt to taste if needed.

Pour on 2 cups water and leave to simmer on low heat until it's left in just oil. Prepare a suitable baking tray and oil it. Divide the dough into 2 parts, with 1 larger than the other.

Roll out the larger 1 into a sheet and place in the tray - let its edges spill outside the tray. Spread out the braised filling over it. Roll out the 2nd sheet to the size of the tray and place it atop the filling.

Smear with a beaten fresh egg and bake in a moderate oven until ready. Shortly before taking it out, grate cheese on top and bake until golden.find similar recipes here
