Ingredients

  • fish - 2.2 lb (1 kg) hake
  • tomatoes - 10.6 oz (300 g)
  • lemons - 1
  • pickles - from green tomatoes
  • soy sauce - 5 tbsp
  • glutamate - 1 tsp sodium
  • black pepper
  • onions - 2 heads
  • sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • butter - 5 tbsp vegetable fat
  • salt
  • ginger - fresh

How to cook

Caramelize the sugar with the butter. Once you get a nice caramel color, carefully top up with 2/5 cup (100 ml) hot water and stir until dissolved.

Take suitable a pan and arrange a line of fish, line of tomato slices, lemon slices, onion rings and likewise with the cut pickles. Add the ground ginger and alternate this way until your ingredients run out.

Season with soy sauce, sodium glutamate and add salt generously.

Pour on the dissolved caramel and add water to cover everything.

Put to boil over low heat for about 1 hour.
