Wash and dry the squid tentacles. Cut them into circles. Chop the onions and garlic finely.
Braise them briefly in the heated oil. Take them out, in their place put the paprika, cayenne pepper and starch and stir well. Pour in the water and stir well again, so there's no lumps.
Boil the sauce until thickened as desired. If you like a thicker sauce, boil longer or add starch, if you prefer it thinner, add more water.
Add the coriander to the sauce, season with salt and pepper. Add the calamari circles to the boiling sauce and stew 3-4 min. under a lid. Pour in the lemon juice at the end and stir.
