Chicken in Sauce in the Oven
- chicken steaks - 4 from chicken legs
- onions - 1 head
- garlic - 2 cloves
- carrots - 1
- peppers - 1 green
- mushrooms - 9 oz (250 g)
- tomatoes - 14 oz (400 g) cut, canned
- sugar - 1 tsp
- black pepper
Season the chicken steaks with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a deep pan, braise the chicken briefly on both sides in it, then place them in a baking tray.
Put the chopped into slices onions and garlic in the same pan. Once they soften, add the cleaned carrot and pepper.
To them add the chopped mushrooms, then the canned tomatoes.
Season the sauce with salt and pepper. Add a little sugar to kill the tomatoes' acidity. Add a little basil and rosemary to make it even more aromatic.
Let the sauce cook for 10 min., then pour it over the fried chicken meat.
For those who like their sauce a little spicy, you can add a chili pepper to the sauce.
Put the dish to bake in a 392°F (200 °C) oven.
