Wash the goose and rub it well inside and out with paprika and salt.
Put it in a rectangular tray, pour in the water.
Arrange the chopped butter on top of the goose and cover with aluminum foil.
Put it in the oven and bake at 482°F (250 °C) for the 1st 30 min., then lower to 356°F (180 °C) and bake 1 hour.
Uncover the foil from the goose and bake, while basting it occasionally with the liquid from the tray.
Once reddened, flip it over to the other side and finish baking.
Serve with a garnish of choice.
