Semolina Halva with Raisins

  • semolina - 2 cups
  • oil - 15 tablespoons
  • raisins - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 g)
  • vanilla - 1
  • syrup
  • water - 6 cups
  • sugar - 2 cups
  • coconut flakes - for sprinkling


Start by making the syrup: boil the water with the sugar.

Next, braise the semolina in the oil to a light brown, pour the syrup over it while still on the stove.

Add the vanilla and raisins and continue stirring until thickened.

Remove from the stove, pour the mixture into a suitable tray. If you'd like it to be thicker, pour it into a smaller tray. Each to their own.

Once cooled, cut it into pieces and sprinkle with coconut flakes.
