"Winter isn`t so scary when your home is warm and you`ve got a fresh salad with red cabbage waiting for you at the table."

Ingredients

  • red cabbages - 1/2 - 2/3 of a small head
  • tomatoes - 1 large or 2 medium
  • peppers - 1 roasted red pepper
  • salt
  • walnuts - 1/5 cup (60 g)
  • lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • vinegar - 2 to 3 tablespoons
  • olive oil - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml) or oil
  • parsley - few sprigs, to serve

How to cook

Chop the cabbage and mash lightly with a little salt. Peel and chop the peppers and cut them into small pieces. Add them to the cabbage.

Separate the seeds from the tomatoes and cut them into small pieces. Mix the cabbage, tomatoes and peppers.

Season the salad with salt, lemon juice, vinegar, olive oil to taste and crushed walnuts.

Serve the red cabbage salad beautifully arranged on a plate and garnish with a sprig of parsley.

This salad goes very well with homemade brandy.
