"There are a ton of ways of preparing baklava but we love this one with puff pastry because it is quick and easy to make."

Ingredients

  • puff pastry - 17.5 oz (500 g)
  • walnuts - 2 cups ground
  • eggs - 1 - 2
  • sugar - 1/2 cup
  • vanilla - 2 sachets
  • for the syrup
  • sugar - 3 to 4 cups
  • water - 3 - 4 cups
  • vanilla - 1 packet of powder
  • lemons - grated lemon rind

How to cook

Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla, add the chopped walnuts and mix well. Divide the puff pastry into two rectangles.

Place the mixture in the center of each rectangle and roll it up. Cut each roll into small pieces, arrange them in a greased tray and bake them in a hot, preheated oven.

Prepare a syrup by boiling the products for it for several minutes.

Cover the puff pastry baklava with the sugar syrup. Serve the next day, so the baklava soaks up the syrup well.
